Customer service#
Questions about what's actually on a report - what a write-off category means, why a keeper count looks odd - are answered in the report FAQ. This page covers orders, payments, refunds and accounts.
Get in touch#
How do I contact you?#
Go to checkthereg.co.uk and use the Report an issue button in the footer - it opens a short form and gives you a ticket to come back to, with an emailed link if you leave an address. If you'd rather email, use hello@checkthereg.co.uk. Either way, include the registration number, roughly when you paid, and what's wrong; a screenshot helps if it's something on screen.
What can you help with?#
Something wrong on a report, a payment or paid-check problem, the website not working properly, or anything else - the form has a category for each.
Orders and payments#
Can I get a refund on a paid check?#
A full history check or Provenance check is digital content delivered the moment it's ready, so under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 the standard 14-day cancellation right ends as soon as your report starts generating - paying is you asking us to start straight away. See refunds and cancellation for the full terms.
What about the Digital Service History check?#
Same as above - it's digital content delivered once the check completes, so the same cancellation terms apply. No records doesn't always mean no servicing - not every manufacturer or garage reports into this system, so an empty result is a real answer, not a failed check. If yours failed to run rather than came back empty, contact us.
Is my payment secure?#
Yes - paid checks are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
What does the £10,000 guarantee actually cover?#
It's provided by Experian, not by us, and only applies when your report shows it as active - not every check carries it, even where it's mentioned generally on the site. See experian.co.uk/data-guarantee for their terms.
Your reports and account#
I can't find my report#
Straight after payment you're taken to it directly, and if you left an email address we send the same link there. Signed-in buyers can also see every past check under My account. If neither turns it up, email us the registration number and roughly when you paid and we'll track it down.
Do I need an account?#
No - you can buy a check as a guest. Signing in just keeps a history of your checks, your garage, and any Digital Service History credit balance in one place.
Something on my report looks wrong#
Use the Report an issue button on the report itself, or the button in the site footer, and tell us what you're seeing - see the report FAQ for what the data itself means.
