What the free check shows

Every check starts with the data the DVLA and DVSA already hold on the vehicle. That means whether it is taxed and when the tax runs out, whether it has a valid MOT, and every MOT test on record with the date, the result and the odometer reading. Each failure, major defect and advisory the tester wrote down is listed, with a plain-English note on what to ask the seller about it.

Go deeper when you want to

When you are close to buying, an optional paid check adds the things the free record cannot say: whether the car has ever been recorded as an insurance write-off and in which category, whether it has been reported stolen, whether there is outstanding finance against it, and a valuation. A service history add-on shows recorded work where it is available.
